After Poloo’s incarceration, the President of Child Rights International, Mr Bright Appiah has said his organization will soon target celebrities who have opened social media accounts for their children for commercial purposes.

This comes after the organization spearheaded the incarceration of Ghanaian socialite Akuapem Poloo after she posted an obscene photo of herself and her seven-year-old son on social media in June last year.

Mr Appiah in an interview on Ade Akye Abia with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM stated that Child Rights International will soon launch action against celebrity parents who are engaging their children who are minors for commercial purposes on social media.

“Very soon, they’ll hear from us on some actions that we’re going to take with respect to how people are engaging their children on social media for commercial purposes, for advertisement, for all kinds of things.”

He added that it would be good on their part to take such posts or accounts down immediately.

“It will be in their best interest to pull those things down otherwise there is an action that will follow very soon.”

Child Rights International (CRI) is a non-governmental organization that is committed to the promotion and protection of the inherent dignity of every child.
