Some personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service deployed across Ghana’s borders have bemoaned the delay in releasing their two months unpaid allowances.

The affected personnel numbering about 500 who spoke on condition of anonymity said measures to get their commander to heed to their plea have proved futile. They also revealed that they have also reached out to the headquarters of the Ghana Immigration Service to complain about the situation.

Their authorities have called for calm amongst the affected staff and assured them that the situation is being resolved for them to get their allowances due them.

They have been deployed to curb the illegal entry of migrants into the country since the land borders were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
