Husband and mother of alleged Takoradi kidnapped but found Josephine among persons arrested by Police

​​As the twists continue to unfurl opinions concerning Josephine Payin Mensah, the alleged Tokarodi kidnapped pregnant woman, information available has it that the identities of two of the people apprehended by the Ghana Police Service to assist in the investigation of the alleged kidnapping her husband and mother.

According to the aide of Western Regional Minister Justice Acquah, the two Micheal Simmons and his mother-in-law were picked up because there is suspicion that the whole kidnapping incident was staged.

He further explained this saying “Because it was a syndicate. It was well planned. One person cannot stage a kidnap. He had accomplices who helped in ensuring that they carry out their ideas successfully.”

This particular incident has had its twist and turns after Madam Josephine Mensah was found in Tolanu, a suburb of Axim on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

 Her disappearance sparked a lot of reactions from Ghanaians when the issue was reported to the Police by her husband making the Police issue an alert. But interestingly when she was found her pregnancy was no more.

However, per the briefing, the Western Regional Minister got from the National Security, the lady was not pregnant as the family claimed.

This was, however, challenged by the family and residents of Columbia, a suburb of Takoradi, where the couple live. Some residents even invoked curses on the regional minister for saying what he did not know about.

But the aide to the Western Regional Minister also revealed how the Minister had to provide GHS3000 ransom for the release of Madam Josephine.

Mr Acquah stressed, “For now, we can’t say for a fact that there was no kidnap but we can only speak to the fact that there was no pregnancy because the Police are still carrying out their investigations and they have not concluded on the kidnapping side.”

Meanwhile, Madam Josephine, who has now been declared a suspect, has been transferred to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for another round of medical examination over her pregnancy claims.
