Captain Smart, host of Onua TV’s Maakye show allegedly steps down
Captain Smart, a Ghanaian broadcast journalist, is said to have stepped down as host of Onua TV’s premier morning show, Maakye.
Kofi Asare Brako (Abatey), a well-known media personality and sportswriter, revealed this in a Facebook post.
Captain Smart has been replaced as host of the show by a female presenter, who will take over in the coming days, Kofi Asare Brako alleged.
“Woow Captain Smart Steps Down As Onua TV’s Maakye Show Host?; Female Presenter Takes Over” he posted on social media.
Captain Smart and the Onua TV/FM management have not yet issued any official comment.
Mr Smart joined Onua TV/FM in June 2021, after resigning from Angel FM where he was suspended for ‘harsh’ radio criticism of several state leaders.
During his unveiling ceremony, Mr Smart stated that he has always been concerned about the country’s youths future and that he intended to use his position as a journalist to work for their betterment.
His transfer to Media General came as a surprise because he had previously launched his own television station, “Smart TV” before joining Media General. It is not clear if his alleged resignation has got something to do with his TV station or it is another power lay for forces behind the scenes.
