The Kasoa New Market Police have detained two gay lovers after one inflicted cutlass wounds on his partner for allegedly cheating on him.

Prince Nyator, 22, and Evans Amoah, 23, are the suspects. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm. on Thursday.

According to a Police source, both partners work at the Kasoa New Market restaurant, but Prince discovered Evans who apparently is a bisexual had a girlfriend, prompting him to attack and knife him.

One of the restaurant workers who observed the event told EIB Network’s Central Regional Correspondent Yaw Boagyan that Prince became enraged after Evans Amoah continually denied him sex.

Evans had a girlfriend before meeting his gay lover, according to further checks.

According to the story, Evans’ envious gay buddy frequently inquired about his girlfriend, but Evans always denied it.

This is in the midst of huge public discourse over a bill currently before Ghana’s Parliament which when passed will outlaw outrightly all LGBTQI+ activities in the country including their promotion. The bill has received opposition from a section of the Ghanaian public with a group of academians leading the charge to have the bill dropped.

Meanwhile, many religious groups are up in arms against any person that will support gay activities in the country. Most have thrown their support behind the private members’ bill being spearheaded by Sam Nartey George and seven other MPs.
