Zapp Mallet claims ‘German in Ghanaian body’ tweet was a joke
Ghanaian recording Engineer and producer Emmanuel Mallet, known in showbiz as Zapp Mallet caused a stir on social media with his tweet that gave inclination to a part in the ongoing LGBTQI+ debate.
He tweeted that he is a wrong person trapped in the wrong body and specifically a German in a Ghanaian body and thus wanted help from the German Embassy to escape from the trap.
Many netizens who saw the tweet understood it differently from the author and accused him of betraying the motherland and the children. One of the fellows who took lead in drawing Mallet’s attention to the betrayal is a Twitter user by the name Erik Kwaku Mina.
Erik said “Running Away from your mother land is another way of betraying your Children.They will surely Use the Mallet to bring down the roofs of the ancestral home to warm themself”
Following what Mallet later termed as misquotation by Ghanaian bloggers, he sought to clarify and has according to Graphic Online said his tweet was a joke. But that was after he probably has had enough of the misquotation and let it out.
He noted that he was just being himself by tweeting and nothing more. He also wondered if the ancestors whom Ghanaians say he is betraying knows what he goes through in life.
However, Zapp’s attempted explanations that he is not betraying the motherland and the children failed to also get some in line with his feeling or thinking. And Erik again was at the front row as he said he is not convinced by the excuses and explanations offered by the record producer whom he felt should be part of the people coaching the young ones but is here running away.
Zapp Mallet also aimed a shot at Ghanaians, mocking the understanding level of many as they failed to note the difference between ‘country’ and ‘body’. He posited that if it was comprehension exams, most will fail abysmally.
Wondering what his name will be after he has been helped by the German Embassy to escape his Ghanaian body? Well, he said he will be called ‘Zapp Merkel’. That is different from ‘Steiger’m the name a Twitter user suggested for him if he finally gets his wish granted.
