The Active Edutainment Show (the AE Show) Christmas Edition which took place on Saturday saw fantastic and breathtaking performances from several young and budding artists who entertained the audience both in the morning and the evening of Christmas day.

Designed to entertain and educate, the AE Show was hosted by Maame Abena Fabia, co-hosted by Lizzy Hipzy and MC Darling. The three eloquent and industrious hosts flaunted their versatility to engage the various acts present at both sessions of the show to the amusement and excitement of patrons and audience at home.

Coming for the morning session were Reggae/Dancehall artist Beenie Blak, rapper-cum singer Stylish Rap Tindana, Mock Sin and Modi who all participated in an exciting one against one kind of battle on stage.

Beforee the acts were given the platform to perform, Isaac Whyte led a Karoake session with flawless and soul-reaching performance that got goose bumps over many. A pick and act session led by the flamboyant Lizzy Hipzy saw some of the artists and audience exhibit their acting skills that would easily have got Kumawood roles but for the recent lag in the industry.

A rare but exciting session was added to spice up an already beefed up event with eating competition between two groups of two persons each who also hilariously showed the art of eating one of Ghana’s favourite and staple dishes, Banku with pepper.

The artists all were given the opportunity to freestyle, an act that drew out a lot of creativity from the artists who wowed the audience in the studio. Young dance prodigy, Ablakwah entertained the audience with sleek dance moves that got every person in the studio jumping in to join the dance vibe.

After a long break for the day following the entertaining morning session, the evening session kicked off after 8 pm with more exciting and enthusiastic artists ready to thrill to chill.

Another Karoake session opened the show in the evening with Isaac Whyte once again dumbfounding audience with out of the world performance. Lizzy Hipzy, Maame Abena Fabia and MC Darling all passed through with exhilarating karoake performances.

A pair of Yhaw Skeleton and Marni then kicked of the artist session with stupendous freestyle battle that got many clapping and hailing. Following them were the duo of Dray and FlyBoy TFG who took fixated everyone with melodic performances. At a point during the freestyle performance, FlyBoy was asked how he even considers himself an underground artist even though he has such deep lyrical and fluent flow that creates an atmosphere suited for already established stars. He was humble in his response, noting that he is still trying his best to make it big in the industry and hit the headlines.

Another reggae/dancehall and ragga artist, Wayla paired with terrific Nigerian export Godzoe to stupedify audience with versatile and deft performance giving back to back heavy loaded lyrical freestyle performances that got the whole studio audience enchanted.

Following the freestyle battle, each of the artists was given time to perform their own songs with each of them seizing the opportunity to show big balls, thus sending a heavy message to the current crop of top artists that they too are soon arriving.

In all, it was a day of excitement, education and celebration. Active TV will bring to its cherished audience another edition of the AE Show on the Saturday, 1st of January, 2022. If you missed the Christmas Edition, you would do no more to miss out on the new year edition.
