Samini elected as SRC president of GIMPA
The Students Representative Council (SRC) of GIMPA has elected dancehall artiste Emmanuel Andrews Samini as its president for 2022–2023.
Samini polled 307 votes to defeat his rival Theophilus Quartey, who received 211 votes.
Theophilus Quartey enrolled in 2019 as a student in finance and is currently in level 300.
Mabel Mensah will serve as Samini’s vice president for GIMPA SRC. The multiple award-winning musician hinted at his intention to contest the position when he asked his followers on Twitter to know their take on it. Many tweeps encouraged him to go for it.
He subsequently announced his decision and was elected as the new SRC President. Samini as part of his plans for the students has stated several things his leadership will do for the students including the establishment of an SRC Emergency Trust Fund, the creation of an SRC help desk and the setting up of business incubation.
The musician is currently a Business Administration student at GIMPA.
