Bulldog Attacks Government Over Ghana’s Grammys Awards Snub

Nigerian duo Burna Boy and Wizkid made themselves and their nation proud at the 63rd Grammy Awards by winning an award each. That victory was seen as an African victory.

Many took to social media to celebrate the duo. That nearly sparked a Twitter beef between Samini and his godson Stonebwoy. Shatta Wale and Kwadwo Sheldon went on a unmatched near beef. And Sista Afia blasted Ghanaians for blaming their artistes for the no show at the global event.

The blame game is still on but this time it has taken a different direction. Popular artiste Manager and CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment, Bulldog has taken the blame straight to government.

According to Bulldog, no Ghanaian musician made it to the Grammy Awards because the government has failed to invest in the Creative Arts industry.

In a post on his Facebook page, the maverick artiste manager opined that in Nigeria they rally around their flag but in Ghana, they wipe the floor with it.

He stated that the government won’t fund the arts industry, yet frustrates private companies who try to support. “Government won’t make a deliberate attempt to fund the arts — when private companies do — government will frustrate and shut them down eventually,” he added.

His last line is an indirect jab at the governement for its poor handling of the MenzGold saga. MenzGold owner Nam1 was seen as a messiah to the arts industry using his outfit’s affiliate companies to promote the industry. The government however could not handle the company well when it had issues with regulatory authorities. The result has been telling.
