Akuapem Poloo Press Conference Useless And Risky – Halifax Addo
Halifax Ansah Addo, a journalist and entertainment pundit has described as useless and risky the press conference held by Akuapem Poloo after she was released from prison. He made the remarks in an inteview with Abeiku Santana on United Showbiz on UTV.
Akuapem Poloo was granted bail by the Accra High Court following an appeal by her lawyers after she was sentenced to 90-days imprisonment. She was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to all three charges against her in court and was sentenced by the Accra Circuit Court. This was after Child Rights International brought a case against her when she posted nudes with her 7-year old son on social media in June last year.
According to the entertainment pundit, the content of the press conference held by the actress was not necessary right now as her case is still in court could yield dangerous repercussions. He referenced the 2020 Election Petition where the judges cautioned the parties involved on their press conference after every court sitting.
In his view, the speech made by the video vixen could lead to more legal actions that could change her fate from bad to worse. “The press conference was only useful to the media but it was useless to the substantive case in the court. It is even risky looking at the content of what our sister [Akuapem Poloo] said at the press conference,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rosemond Brown known as Akuapem Poloo was broke down in tears whiles delivering her message at the press conference. Her team abruptly stopped the presser and led her out of the conference room to the dismay of many in the media present who wanted to ask questions. She was later escorted back into the room to allow the media to ask questions.
