NDC Addresses Media on Results Collations – Calls For Transparency
The National Democratic Congress, NDC has held a press conference where it expressed its displeasure with the happenings after close of polls on Monday.
Speaking to the media, the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South accused the government of using military and police to intimidate their party agents from fully partaking in the collation process.
Citing cases of shooting at Techiman South and Savelugu where two and one person respectively have lost their lives in the process. He accused the military of unprofessionalism and assured they’ll resist any attempts to install a president using guns.
He added that the media should demand transparency from the Electoral Commision. He stated that they require all details when the EC is declaring the presidential results and not just a blank figure.
He mentioned Techiman South, Savelugu, Upper Denkyira and Sefwi Wiaso as some of the constituencies where the government is using the military to intimidate Elections official to declare results in its favour.
The Director of Operations of the NDC, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey warned that the party will resit all attempts to have the elections turned in favour of the New Patriotic Party. He urged party supporters to stand their ground and ensure the right thing is done.
