Akufo-Addo Knocks Out Mahama in Third Contest For Presidency
The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has emerged victorious after a fiercely contested elections held on Monday to elect a president for Ghana for the next four years.
The historic elections which had twelve candidates contestants including eleven political parties and one Independent candidate was an all but two-horse race between Former President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC and the current President H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The president beat his closest contender by 515,524 votes. His total votes were 6,730,413 representing 51.59% with John Mahama earning 6,214,889 of the 13,434,574 votes cast.
