Price of sachet water increases to 60 pesewas from today
Prices of sachet and bottled water would go up today 31st October 2022 according to an announcement made last week.
The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers made calls for an increment in the prices of the product to 60 pesewas.
It recommended that 500ml bottled water be sold at GH¢2.50 by retailers, 750ml bottled water or medium size be retailed at GH¢3.50 while 1.5 litres bottled water should be sold at GH¢5.
According to the association, the increased cost of production has forced them to reach this decision.
Also, one of their main products used in packaging the water, which is the plastic films and preforms has been increased by the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association.
This is the second time the price has increased in less than two months since the last increment. The last increment was on September 19, 2022.
Another major problem confronting businesses is the cedi sharply losing its value and the water producers have joined calls for the government to tackle the situation else they will close down their businesses.
