Awutu Senya East: Government Supports 50 NVTI Graduates
The government of Ghana through the National Board For Small Scale Industry (NBSSI) has supported fifty (50) National Vocational and Technical Institute (NVTI) graduates in the Awutu Senya East constituency and its environs with work kits.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Coastal Development Authority, Mr Emmanuel Kojo Affram revealed that the initiative is part of the agenda of the government to reduce youth unemployment. Unemployment, according to him is a threat to national security and should be tackled.
The Deputy CEO made the revelation when speaking on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson.
Mr Emmanuel Kojo Affram said youth unemployment in the constituency has been the headache of Hon Hawa Koomson since she became an MP. As a result, she is more than ready to partner with NBSSI and Master Card Foundation to give employment to her constituents.
He advised those who have benefited from the initiative to make good use of the working kits they have received. He added that they should also train others so that many youths could also benefit from the initiative.
The 50 beneficiaries received work kits such as sewing machines, hairdryers, gas cylinders and other industrial equipment.
